The Wendy
Williams Show American presenter, Wendy Williams is taking another break from
shooting her daytime television show, due to exhaustion identified with her
Graves' infection diagonosis.
In an
announcement, a representative for the show depicted the choice to get some
much needed rest as a recommendation suggested by a specialist.
Williams
will be "will be taking a break as she keeps on recieving treatment,"
the representative said.Williams will definately be back to the show when her
health condition improves well. More
reports on her return date will follow."
Williams has
taken numerous breaks health wise from the show before, most as of late in mid
2019.
Graves'
sickness is an immune system issue that causes hyperthyroidism and can bring
about exhaustion and muscle weakness, also pains and irritation around the eyes.
Williams
initially uncovered her diagnosis in 2018, after a few on-air occurrences in
which she seemed to lose foresight or slur her words. Soon after, she went on a
three-week break from the show.
Like other
host, Wendy Williams has been taping an at-home form of her show since April.
Biography
Williams was
born on July 18, 1964 in Asbury Park, New Jersey. She is the second chid among
the three children of Shirley and Thomas Williams. At age of 5, she moved to Wayside
division of Ocean Township, New Jersey with her family .
Williams graduated
from Ocean Township High School and then attended Northeastern University in
Boston, Massachusetts from 1982 to 1986, graduating with a Bachelor of Science
in communication and was a DJ for the college radio station.
In 2008,
Debmar-Mercury Williams offered a six-week television trial of her own talk show.
On July 14, 2008, Williams debuted in four cities in the summer of 2008 with
her talk show The Wendy Williams Show.
During the tryout, the New York Times
noted that the introduction of the genre created a "breakthrough by
day" for the "Backtalk Show".
After a
successful run, Fox signed a contract with Debmar-Mercury to broadcast the show
nationwide on their channels from July 2009. BET also acquired cable rights to
broadcast the show at night. In 2010, BET started the show internationally in
54 countries via BET International.
Williams has
received several nominations at the Daytime Emmy Awards for hosting an
outstanding entertainment talk show, and the show itself was for an outstanding
talk show / entertainment. The show attracts an average of 2.4 million viewers
per day, with Williams acting daily with Ellen DeGeneres as the number 1 female
presenter on daytime television.
The Wendy
Williams Show was renewed at Fox Television Stations during the 2019-20
television season. The renewal will keep Wendy on air during season 11. During
the November 2015 sweeps period, the talk show ranked either # 1 or # 2 in the
top demo for women 25-54 in 55% of the US and 20 of the top 25 markets.
Williams
hadn't missed a show until February 2018 when she took a week off; On February
21, 2018, however, Williams announced that her show would pause three weeks
because of her complications with Graves' disease and hyperthyroidism.
In January
2019, a report from her family revealed that Williams had been hospitalized for
complications and her return to the show is suspended indefinitely.
Innkeepers
like Nick Cannon represented Wendy while she was away; She returned on March 4,
2019.
In early
March 2020, the show suspended its live audience for two recordings due to the
coronavirus pandemic. Williams' employees filled the seats. Shortly after,
production on the show was discontinued.
